Our beloved sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Adelina Valdez, was called home to her eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at the age of 88. She was born Dec. 15, 1918 to Francisco and Elisa Villarreal Ortunio in Kyle.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her sister, Sara (Sotero) Gomez, of Gatesville, Texas; sister-in-law, Irene Ortunio, of Kyle; grandchildren, Geneva G. Arellano, Roger Galan, Jr. (Valerie), and Rene Galan; great-grandchildren, Elisa and Jesse Arellano, Jennifer, Amanda, Kimberley, Roger, Ariana and Nicole Galan; several nieces and nephews who cared and loved her very much; also her caregiver and good friend, Carmen Zavala.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anselmo Valdez; son, Roger Galan; brothers, Frank Ortunio, and Abel and Amelia Ortunio.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 in the Thomason Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Deleon officiating. Burial followed in the Kyle City Cemetery.
