$500K grant would improve pedestrian safety

by RAY HERNANDEZ

Kyle Chamber of Commerce

The Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing for an exclusive Black Tie affair that will take place on February 27 at the Plum Creek Golf Course here in Kyle and it will be one simply charming event. This evening awards gala called Gala on the Green: A Masquerade Ball will be celebrating all the great things that continue to happen in the fifth fastest growing city in Texas.

We will have a live auction and silent auction for the awards gala filled with unique items that will not be easy to find anywhere else.  Our most extravagant fundraiser is essential to the Kyle Chamber’s goal to promote, empower, and be a valuable resource to the business community and chamber members; and to position our community as a tourism location and ideal place to live. Tickets for this event are open to the public.

At this time we would like to congratulate all the nominees for the Gala on the Green Awards Gala. All of these individuals and organizations have made a positive impact on the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce and the community. Just being nominated is an incredible recognition and all should be honored. Nominees for Small Business of the Year include: Inn Above Onion Creek, Clearly Classy Events, Bordeaux’s Restaurant, The Winfield Inn and Peak Physical Therapy.

Nominees for Large Business of the Year include: Target, Seton Medical Center Hays, HEB plus, Kohl’s.

Business Person of the Year nominees are: Mary Ann Naumann, Jason Tarr, Amy Dolan, Leonard Cantu, Cory Pack, Ruthie Razee, Jodi Atkinson, Blake Hartman and Mike Remeny.

Nominees for Volunteer of the year are Jim Hough, Mia Hendricks, Blake Hartman, Amy Dolan, Vince Collier, Lucy Cage Johnson and Adell Hurst.

Organization of the Year nominees are: Central Texas Medical Center Hospice, Hope and Love for Kids, City of Kyle, Kyle Lions Club and the Connection Church.

Finally, we could not have had the many successes without the support of the business community, organizations, individual members and the many other surrounding community business and tourism organizations. To everyone that has assisted the Kyle Chamber in even the slightest manner, thank you!
