Man shot in carjacking near Buda
A man suffered a chest wound after he was shot in a carjacking near Texas SH 45 and IH-35, just north of Buda, police say.

Austin police responded to a 911 call around 6 a.m. on Tuesday and arrived to discover a man in his 40s lying in the front of his delivery truck. The man was transported to Brackenridge Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Austin police spokesperson Cpl. Scott Perry said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, police were still searching for two unidentified suspects involved in the shooting. The victim is talking with investigators at Brackenridge, Perry said.

17 travel trailers hit in Buda
Burglars hit the Camper Clinic in Buda late Friday night or early Saturday morning, breaking into 17 travel trailers and fifth wheel trailers and making off with $7,000 in electronics, said a spokesperson with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.

The burglars cut through a chain link fence to gain access to the property on IH-35 next to Cabela’s sporting goods store, investigators say. The thieves targeted 17 units that investigators say were unsecured, including two trailers belonging to customers, making off with TVs and surround sound stereo systems. They also attempted to pry open the doors to two other locked units, damaging the trailers, but were unable to gain entry.

The electronics ranged in value from $325 to $999 each, investigators said.

There are no current leads in the case.

Investigation continues in east side break-in
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home break-in at the 100 block of Red Bird Trail in the Dove Hill subdivision east of Kyle off Windy Hill Road.

Investigators say the burglars kicked in the back door of the home and made off with a computer and accessories, a camcorder and a safe.

Motorcycle stolen in Buda
A 2003 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was reported stolen this weekend from the Vantage apartment complex in Buda, say investigators with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.

The resident had been gone for the weekend and reported the theft when he returned home Sunday, investigators said.
