Buda Bits
by SANDRA GRIZZLE
We are just a couple of weeks into the New Year and looking forward to what the year will bring. East of Interstate 35 near Truck City Ford, big equipment is moving dirt for the soon to be built Tractor Supply. Roadwork on Main Street near Interstate 35 is finally taking shape and could be completed within the next few months.
Rumor is Buda’s Wal-Mart will be closing (when the Kyle one is built) and Hobby Lobby might be moving into the vacant space (City officials say these rumors are false). Casa Alde and Viuda Bistro have really spruced up their place on Main Street and also have extremely good food.
Garcia’s Restaurant hopes to expand their serving area and offer margaritas! Watch for the opening of Buda Grocery & Grill’s new garden area.
Of course there is always talk about new things coming this way so time will tell what will be good, bad or the best for our little corner of the world.
Sorry to see that Rollin Hot Grill (formerly Main Street Café) has a closed sign on the door. Again we need to be reminded that it is good to “shop local” and help our local businesses.
For those who think that you have to travel to San Marcos to pay property taxes or renew license for vehicles, the Buda office of the Hays County Tax Office is still in business at 500 Jack C. Hays Tr. (FM 2770).
