Jean Quist Sellstrom, 83, of Austin passed away May 17, 2014. She was born July 2, 1930, at home in Austin, TX.
Jean lived in south Austin her whole life, graduating from the old Austin High School. She married James W. Sellstrom nearly 65 years ago on July 14, 1949, in Austin. Her passion was anything Swedish, Texas history, cooking and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren, who called her Mormor. Member of Swedish VASA Lodge #743, Central Texas Chevy Club, and other organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred Quist and Harriet Elizabeth Belvin.
Jean is survived by her husband, Jim Sellstrom; brother, Jack Quist; sister, Karen Hambrick; children, David (wife Kathy), Elizabeth (husband Leslie Cadwallader) and Jonathan (wife Shannon), six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin followed by burial at Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr., Austin.
