Candidates spends $3,300 in Kyle election

By Andy Sevilla

The three candidates battling for a seat on the Kyle council have collectively spent $3,365 in their efforts to win the election.

Shane Arabie has collected the most political contributions and outspent his opponents — Laurie Luttrell and Bill Sinor — in his bid to take over the remaining two years left in the District 3 seat.

Arabie has received close to $1,500 for his political campaign, according to July and August campaign finance reports. He also loaned his campaign $1,000, the reports show.

Luttrell has raised $300 in her bid for election, according to her July and August campaign finance reports.

Sinor, who donated $800 to his own campaign, has raised a total $949 in his attempt at taking the District 3 seat, reports show.

Arabie, who has outraised Luttrell and Sinor, also has outspend his opponents in the race.

According to finance reports, Arabie has expended $2,135.50 in his attempt at election, while Sinor has spent $990.21, and Luttrell used up $239 of her campaign war chest.

In the last eight days left before the Aug. 9 election, Luttrell reported having the most campaign dollars to continue her fight for the District 3 seat. She remains with $494.66, according to her August campaign finance report.

Arabie was left with $354.52 to continue his campaign, and Sinor had no money left, finance reports show.

All three candidates are still able to raise and spend funds toward their election efforts.
