Pick a patch of pumpkins

The pumpkins are coming to town this week, thanks to the members of the Buda United Methodist Church.  Hundreds of pumpkins of all sizes and shapes will be available for purchase at the new Pumpkin Patch located next to the home of Tammy and Billy Gray on Main Street across the street from Willie’s BBQ. Shop soon for the perfect pumpkin and don’t forget to snap a photo.

The Meals on Wheels program in partnership with Community Action will begin serving meals in Buda starting on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Volunteers for this program are also needed to deliver meals to the homebound seniors in the Buda community. To register for the meals or to volunteer, please call 1-800-333-6325.

In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the shops on Main (Hays Free Press, Old Main Street Station, Little Bluebird and Red Door) suggest you wear pink for “first Thursday” in downtown Buda on Oct. 2. Folks wearing pink will receive 20% off one item in the shops.

The Onion Creek Senior Center and New Haven Assisted Living & Memory Care will sponsor a Health Fair on Friday, Oct. 10 at the senior center in Buda. The Health Fair will offer flu shots (remember to bring your Medicare card), vision and glaucoma screening, blood pressure checks along with other health related information. The Health Fair will be 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the senior center located at 420 Barton’s Crossing. The public is invited to attend.
