Bulldog reunion and Boo-da Halloween

Hays High School class of 1989 will come together on Saturday, Nov. 1st for their 25th reunion. The group will meet at 6 p.m. at Willie’s Joint on North Main in Buda. Start looking for the best of Halloween costumes and be ready for the annual Boo-da Halloween Trick or Treat along Main Street in downtown Buda on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Buda Downtown Merchants sponsor the event in which the local merchants hand out treats in front of their storefronts and other businesses set up on the greenbelt around the library for all the little spooks.

The Second Annual Quilt Show and Christmas Bazaar will be held at the Onion Creek Senior Center on Friday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 8, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Along with the display of quilts and the bazaar, there will be a silent auction, bake sale, quilt raffle sale and soup and sandwich lunch along with drinks and snacks.

The public is also invited to display quilts at the show. If you would like to do so, contact the center at 512-295-3413 for an entry form.

The Onion Creek Senior Center and New Haven Assisted Living & Memory Care will sponsor a free Health Fair on Friday, Oct. 10th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the senior center in Buda located at 420 Barton’s Crossing. The Health Fair will offer flu shots (remember to bring your Medicare card or other insurance), as well as many other exams. The public is invited.

Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center is also hosting Life Line Screening Wednesday, October 15, 2014. The screenings provided include an ultrasound of the heel, tests to check for blocked carotid arteries, atrial fibrillation and high blood pressure, check for abdominal aortic aneurysms and PAD, also called hardening of the arteries. For more information regarding the screenings or to schedule an appointment, call 1-888-653-6441. Pre-registration is required.

Come on over to the senior center for the 3rd Thursday night dance on Oct. 16 beginning at 6 p.m. with music provided by Off the Grid. The kitchen will be open from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
