Staff Report on October 23, 2014
They support Buda

I have known Eileen Altmiller for many years. She was a leader in the Friends of the Buda Library long before there was a Buda Library Commission and helped form Old Town Buda Neighborhood Association. She served as a member of Buda’s Parks Commission. I observed her conscientious approach to every task when we served on the Buda 2030 Comprehensive Plan advisory committee.

I was pleased she decided to run the City Council in 2012. She was well prepared for every topic that came before her. When I left office in 2013, I was Buda’s representative on the Capital Area Council of Governments. There was no doubt who to recommend as my replacement – Eileen Altmiller. She also was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Hays Caldwell Public Utility Agency.

We need leaders with a reputation for hard work, a record of years of dedicated service, and familiarity with long range plans that will be implemented.

Her opponent appears to be a promising future leader for our community, and I hope he runs again, but Buda needs Eileen at this point.

Ron Fletcher
