Carl Rindahl, a Kyle resident and senior at San Marcos Baptist Academy, was nominated by U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett and assured acceptance to attend the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). Rindahl, the son of local engineers Eric and Pamela Rindahl, has been a highly involved and successful student at San Marcos Baptist Academy, earning the rank of battalion commander in JROTC, serving as class president, member of the National Honor Society, captain of both his soccer and track team, among many other activities.
“Each candidate to the USAFA must pass physical, academical, and moral reviews of who they are and prove they are physically, morally and emotionally up to the challenge that the Academy has to offer. This high standard is something that I strive to achieve,” Carl reflected in his essay to Congressman Doggett. “Based on this philosophy, I have developed life skills that include being a leader, knowing how to volunteer, and being a responsible adult. Each of these skills along with the education and opportunities provided by the Academy will allow me to look beyond the USAFA to the time when I have the opportunity to serve in a leadership role in the United States Air Force.”
“Carl is an example of the finest of America’s next generation of leaders. I know that he will provide valuable service to our country as an Air Force officer. The Kyle community can take pride in his commitment,” said Rep. Doggett.
