Ray B. Wilson (1925-2014)

Wilson

Ray B. Wilson (RB) was born May 19, 1925, and passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014. He was born, died and spent most of his life on the Flying Horseshoe Ranch in Driftwood, TX.  He is preceeded in death by his parents Ray & Bessie Wilson; his first wife, mother of his children Doris Carson Wilson; grandson Cade Wilson Keith; granddaughter Emily Borreson; great-great-granddaughter Jett Davis and his little special four-legged friend Annie. He is survived by his wife Julia Bauder Wilson; three daughters, Janie Wilson, Connie Wilson and Judy Wilson Haynes; three step-daughters, Karon McMurray, Linda Doherty, Dianne Borreson and husband Paul; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margie Odell and husband, Laverne along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

RB was a WWII Marine veteran. In 1947 he went to work for the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) as a brand inspector until 1960.  He worked for the Department of Agriculture for a few years before returning to the TSCRA as a Special Texas Ranger until retiring in 1995.  He was inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2005.  RB loved roping, hunting, fishing and playing dominoes.

Services will be held at Dripping Springs Ranch Park, 1042 DS Ranch Road, Dripping Springs, TX 78620 on Oct. 30. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with services to follow at 2 p.m.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the charity of your choice.
