Free diabetes classes
The Hays County Diabetes Coalition is offering a Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes (DWBW) program. DWBW consists of a series of nine (9) topics presented in five (5) class sessions to help people with type 2 diabetes do well and live well with the disease. Topics include understanding diabetes, managing your blood sugar, nutrition, exercise, medicines, and preventing complications. The program was developed by the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service health professionals to help people with type 2 diabetes successfully manage their disease. Family members are also encouraged to participate in the classes, which take place on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 18 and 25 and Dec. 2, 9 and 16 in San Marcos. A resource binder with handouts and other educational resources will be provided to each participant. Device Advice at the Buda Library
The Buda Library will hold another free ‘Device Advice’ class. Bring your device (iPhone, iPad, smart phone, etc.) along with your questions about how to use it. Class takes place from 1-3 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Buda Public Library.
