Delight in the Tour de Lights

C

ity Hall shines bright this year, ushering us into “It’s a Wonderful Life in Mountain City!”

A huge thank you to all who pitched in to pay for this centerpiece that will anchor Tour de Lights. Sponsors include Penny Moulder at Texas Home Team Realty, Christi Anderson – Realtor, Prosper Properties, and County Commissioner Mark Jones.

The Jamails donated mounds of lights, as they switched over to LED lighting. Holly and Val Cass (and others) brought extension cords and lights. The Helms helped with a check. And, Diane Krejci topped off the décor with beautiful bows.

Chris with Groovy Tree Service gifted Loving Mountain City a fabulous discount on the light installation.

Now, let the countdown to Tour de Lights on Dec. 19 begin!

The Décor Scouts  will be out on Monday, Dec. 8 and Tuesday, Dec. 9 (if fine tuning is needed)

Décor Scouts place decorated houses into categories for the ballot. Please consider service as a Décor Scout. Before Monday evening, ask me to email a link to the worksheets.

An inclusive compilation of the worksheets makes up the ballot. To make certain an address gets onto the ballot, send me an email or phone.

As we have a fun time voting Dec. 12 – 14, the weekend before Tour de Lights, we pull together to acknowledge the efforts of our appreciated neighbors, like colorful strands pulled together to make beautiful Christmas bows.

Next week instructions for accessing the ballots will be widely distributed, here and yonder.

All the outdoor decorating activities lead up to Tour de Lights on Friday, Dec. 19. Mountain City’s children and grandchildren travel by hayride past the winning houses. Too, there will be a visit from Santa and cookies. This starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

There will be over two dozen houses with awards!
