Staff Report on February 4, 2015
KAYAC at the capital

In the first month of the year, several Hays CISD students made their mark on the 84th legislative session in Texas. Members of the Kyle Area Youth Advisory Council (KAYAC), comprised of students from Hays and Lehman high schools, joined State Rep. Jason Isaac as he filed House Bill 647, which would prevent sales of tobacco products to minors. KAYAC previously worked with the city of Kyle in developing an ordinance banning the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors within the city. (Photo courtesy of Jerry Hendrix)
