Vegas Knight

The Kyle Knights of Columbus will sponsor an evening filled with casino games, prizes and fun. Play blackjack, craps, roulette, and a variety of other games. Appetizers, food and soft drinks provided with admission, as well as $5,000 in poker chips to start the night. Additional poker chips can be purchased. Admission also includes one reverse raffle number (of 200) for a  chance to win $500. Attendees must be 18. Takes place from 7-11 p.m. Feb. 7 at St. Anthony’s Parish hall in Kyle. PEC Forum

PEC will host a member forum on cost-of-service and rate design study Wednesday, Feb. 18, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the PEC’s Kyle office on 1810 FM 150 West, Kyle. Members will hear presentations and provide input on the co-op’s cost of-service and rate design study. Visit www.pec.coop/survey for more info.

Book signing at the Porter House

Heather Christle, the author of three poetry collections: What is Amazing, The Difficult Farm, and The Trees The Trees, which won the 2012 Believer Poetry Award, will be featured at the Katherine Anne Porter House in Kyle, Feb. 12 at 3:30 p.m. Her poems have appeared in the Boston Review, Gulf Coast, The New Yorker, and The Best American Poetry. She is the Web Editor for jubilat and frequently a writer in residence at the Juniper Summer Writing Institute.
