Rebel netters garner awards at CATA

Staff Report

Haley Butler (right) and Sean Farrell (left) were selected as the Most Valuable Players for Hays High School at the 20th Annual Capital Area Tennis Association banquet held in Austin on April 25.  Both Butler and Farrell have been members of the Rebel Tennis Team for all four years in high school.  This award recognizes a commitment to their program, leadership, and team spirit.   Butler and Farrell were chosen from the Austin area to receive two of ten scholarships awarded to tennis athletes at this banquet.  “I could not have been any prouder of our athletes to get these awards as they represent Hays High School.  Both are outstanding students, players and young people,” Hays head tennis coach Debbie Cook said.
