Two Kyle City Council seats up for grabs in runoff

by Moses Leos III

Kyle citizens will take to the polls for a second time to decide the Kyle City Council District 5 and District 6 seats in Saturday’s runoff election.

In the at-large District 5 race, Damon Fogley will go up against Jaime Sanchez in the runoff. Fogley gained the most votes on May 9 with 311 to Sanchez’ 238, but only gained 49 percent of the vote.

For the single member District 6 seat runoff election, incumbent Tammy Swaton will go up against challenger Daphne Tenorio.

Tenorio gained 108 votes to Swaton’s 95 on May 9, but she only held 42 percent of the vote to Swaton’s 37 percent, forcing a runoff election.

Here is a list of polling places open on Election Day Saturday. Polls close at 7 p.m.

Kyle City Hall (100 W. Center Street, Kyle, TX)

Wallace Middle School (1500 W. Center Street, Kyle, TX)

Chapa Middle School (3311 Dacy Lane, Kyle, TX)
