Lois was born to Willis T. and M. Mildred Barton in Bethpage, Tennessee, on Oct. 5, 1938. She attended Gallatin High School and obtained her Associates Degree in Business at Martin Jr. College in Pulaski, Tennessee. Here she met the love of her life, William David “Bill” Liddle. They married in Bethpage on Sept. 7, 1958.

Lois and Bill began their life together in Nashville, Tennessee, and soon after moved to California where Bill attended Claremont College. In 1963, they moved to San Marcos, where they lived out the rest of their lives. Lois worked at Gary Job Corps Center and the Texas Educational Foundation as an executive accountant. She retired at age 63, devoting much of her time to her beloved granddaughters. She was an avid reader, appreciated art, enjoyed gardening, was a member of a local bowling league, loved traveling and spending time at the coast with her family.

Lois is survived by her daughters Melanie Ann Liddle of San Marcos, Stephanie Liddle Burnett of Lorena, Texas, her granddaughters Haley Alexandra and Sarah Elizabeth Burnett, her brother Tommy Barton of Bethpage, Tennessee, her sister Lisa Lehman of Newark, Ohio, and loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
