Staff Report on July 15, 2015
Douglas Mirza Kadjar (1966-2015)

Douglas Mirza Kadjar, age 48, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2015 surrounded by family and friends.

Born on October 4, 1966 to Bennie and David Kadjar, Doug grew up in Baytown, Texas, where he was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church and attended Ross S. Sterling High School. He went on to attend Lee College and Southwest Texas State University.  Doug has called Hays County home since 1989.  He married the love of his life, Brenna Troyan, in 2005 in Driftwood, TX.

Doug loved Jesus and shared his faith openly and modeled Jesus’ love to those in his life.

His happiest times were spent with his family on the San Marcos River, swinging from the rope swing into the water, kayaking with his son, and swimming with his daughters.

Doug lived a life of selfless service. If there was a need, he volunteered. In recent years, he enjoyed being Hays Rebel Band Booster VP, a Highstepper and Choir Dad, and Cub Scout Leader to his son, as well as being active in many conservative political groups.

Music flourished in Doug’s life. He played trombone, shared his full baritone voice in choir and loved singing in tight four-part harmony, especially when sung for God’s glory.

Doug is survived by his wife Brenna and his four children, Jenna, Jordan, Alyssa, and David; his parents David and Bennie Kadjar of Baytown; sister Julie Davidson and husband Vaughn of Bellaire; sister Jennie Brantley and husband Chad of College Station; father- and mother-in-law Bill and Sue Troyan; godfather Dr. James Moore of Baytown, numerous aunt and uncles, nieces and nephews, and an unending number of friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents Darab and Marguerite Fowles Kadjar and Elmer and Edna Watts Gray.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 at Harrell Funeral Home of Kyle.  The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 17 at First Baptist Church Kyle.  Internment will immediately follow at Kyle Cemetery on S. Old Stagecoach Rd.

Memorial donations may be made to Melanoma Research Alliance Foundation at www.curemelanoma.org or Foundation Fighting Blindness at www.blindness.org.
