Nope, it’s not necessarily track season. But that didn’t stop hundreds of students and parents from showing up at Shelton Stadium Saturday for the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation meet.
Local students competed either unattached, as did Rainey Moore of Hays High, or were part of the Mid-Cities Elite Track Club/CFPO organzation, which is based in Kyle.
Mid-Cities coach Steven Roberson said his group is open to students from throughout Hays County. At this time, he has athletes from Buda, Kyle, San Marcos and Wimberley in the organziation.
Roberson has been coaching youth sports for 23 years and is U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) certified.
Mid-Cities Elite practice three days per week at Simon Middle School. Information about the youth track program, which includes anyone from 7 to 18 years old, is available at www.cfpo-palyouthsports.com.
Results from the meet can be found at www.trackforlife.com.
