Flocking together to tackle hunger
Hays County Food Bank tvolunteers gather at Nighthawk in Buda to put together boxes for families in need of help. This year, the Thanksgiving dinners will feature hams instead of turkeys, saving the food bank thousands of dollars and allowing for more dinners to be distributed. Food bank volunteers planned to put together 3,100 boxes while in Buda. The Turkeys Tackling Hunger drive ends the last day of November. Currently, the food bank sits at about 80% of its projected fundraising goal for the event. (Photo by Cyndy Slovak-Barton)
