Bruce Lynn Ruckel, 59 of Manchaca, Texas passed from life Saturday, April 30, 2016, in Plano Presbyterian Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents Pete and Sybil Ruckel.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Susie, whom he absolutely adored and loved more than anything in this world. He is also survived by his two children, Caleb Ruckel and Callie Shelton. In Bruce’s eyes his children were the light of his life and were the things that his greatest memories and happiest moments were made from. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Cary (Deborah), John (Deborah), Lon (Lindy), and Glenn (Stacy). There are also numerous nephews and nieces who thought Uncle Bruce was more fun than their parents and his cousins who thought of him as a brother. Family was everything to Bruce.
He was born in Dayton, Texas and grew up in Jasper, Texas. Bruce graduated from Jasper High School in 1974 and spent the last 30 years in the Austin area. He and Susie were owner/operator of Chaparral Photo since 2005. The most popular clients were the hundreds of Band and Athletic students as well as countless others grades 6-12 in Hays CISD whose innocence and joy he digitally captured for everyone to see. This is what made him such an incredible photographer.
A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 7 at the Connection Church: 1235 S Loop 4, Buda, TX 78610. The service will be under the direction of Giles-McCoy Funeral Home, Aspermont, Texas.
