Mary Kathlyn Kendall Trim (1927-2022_

Mary Kathlyn Kendall Trim (Kay), age 95, passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 9, 2022 in Kyle, TX. She was born in Berryville, AR to Bess and Price Kendall on January 13, 1927. 

Kay graduated from Huntsville High School in 1945. After graduation she moved to Little Rock, AR where she went to work for Arkansas Power and Light as a receptionist. 

In December 1945 she met the love of her life on a blind date, Boatswain Mate 3rd Class Carl Jackson Trim, who was home on leave from the United States Navy. They married 31 days later on January 20, 1946. Their love story continued for 76 years. After they married Carl joined the United States Army and their journey as a military family began. They moved 18 times during his 22 year Army career. Kay was a true military wife who made each new assignment feel like home. Their postings included Austria, Germany, and Venezuela along with numerous locations in the United States.

After retirement Kay and Carl moved to Midland, TX, where they lived for 39 years. Kay was a talented seamstress and avid gardener. She was an active member of the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Midland. In 2012 Kay and Carl moved to Kyle, TX to be near their family. Kay loved hosting 4th of July picnics at their house on the golf course and was an active member of the Immanual Baptist Church of Kyle. Kay loved to travel and she and Carl enjoyed many amazing adventure around the world.

Kay is survived by her devoted husband, Carl, her daughters and sons in law, Carla and Bill Parr and Twyla and Jeff Seaholm.  She was preceded in death by her beloved son Carl J. Trim, Jr. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply.

A Funeral Service was held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2022 at Harrell Funeral Home of Kyle, Texas.  Committal Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2022 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
