This week in Hays CISD sports
For the first time in program history, the Johnson Jaguars girls powerlifting team earned the 6AD1 Region 2 championship last weekend. Ten girls placed and five qualified for the state meet. Four of the state qualifiers received 1st place in their respective weight classes. The Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Meet will be held in Frisco on March 15. The team includes Hadley Shell, Harmony Swanerbury, Evalyn Velasquez, Hannah Villareal, Chaveli Galvan, Jolie Aguirre, Hailey Hinojosa, Natalie Melgar, Kamryn Louk, Eve Jakubauskas, Lily Hood, Natalie Hinojosa, Kamryn Guerra, Isabella Garza, Destiny New, Isabella Hinojosa, Kayden Guerra, Isabella Serenil, Karlie Randick, Jazlynn Sifuentes and Ashley Grande.
