Barbara Nell Swinebroad Fink (1927-2023)

On October 15, 2023, the Lord Jesus called home Barbara Nell Swinebroad Fink, a woman of unyielding faith, boundless love, and remarkable generosity. Born on the 2nd day of March, 1927, in San Antonio, Texas, Barbara was a radiant soul who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Barbara’s journey took her to Corpus Christi, where she graduated high school and then attended the University of Texas in Austin. In 1946, Barbara met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Conley Fink, a pilot mustering out of the Army Air Corps at Bergstrom Air Base.  Barbara was the heart of their home, serving as both homemaker and CFO of the household. Their love story was one for the ages, and even death could not part them, with Kenneth preceding her in 2009.

Barbara was the proud mother of three sons, Brian Woodson Fink, Lance Gregory Fink Sr., and Douglas Conley Fink (Carol). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chelsea Marie Fink Derickson (Jason), Lance Gregory Fink Jr., Aaron Conley Fink (Jessica), and Melody Mangham Preese (Brayden), and great-grandchildren, Dane Arvin Derickson and Ila Derickson.

Barbara’s faith was the cornerstone of her life, a shining beacon that guided her every step. She was a woman of deep conviction, her faith unwavering even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. She was an example to us all, her life a testament to the power of faith, love, and generosity. Barbara passed away peacefully in Kyle, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire generations. Her spirit, filled with grace and kindness, will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, TX at 12:00 noon  on Monday October 23rd, 2023.
