The Hays County Crime Stoppers hosted its inaugural Murder Mystery Dinner at the Wimberley Convention Center on Saturday, Oct. 21. “The purpose of the fundraiser was to raise awareness about Hays County Crime Stoppers and to raise funds to assist with general operations, paying rewards and to establish a scholarship program for our campus programs at Hays, Johnson, Lehman and San Marcos high schools,” said Sgt. Jeffrey Jordan, Hays County Crime Stoppers executive director. The sold-out event hosted nearly 200 people and raised more than $10,000 for the organization.
“We are so extremely grateful for our sponsors and donors, and for all those who could join in this first Murder Mystery Dinner event,” Sgt. Jordan said. Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous and protects the identity of any tipster under state and federal law.
