KYLE – The Kyle Lions Club awarded a total of $8,000 in scholarships to eight graduating seniors from Lehman High School.
Members of the service organization visited the campus Monday, May 12, to personally present the award letters to Lehman High School Principal Karen Zuniga. The scholarships were presented to the students Wednesday, May 14, during the Lehman High School Senior Awards Ceremony.
“It is truly an honor for the Kyle Lions Club to support these bright and promising students as they embark on their post-secondary journeys,” said president Christopher Calkins. “These scholarships are made possible through the generous contributions of our donors and we believe investing in the education of our youth is vital to the future of our community.”
Zuniga expressed her gratitude for the Kyle Lions Club’s continued support of Lehman High School students: “This generous donation will make a significant difference in the lives of these eight seniors, helping them to achieve their academic goals,” she stated.
The $8,000 in scholarships will provide financial assistance to the students as they pursue higher education. According to the organization, this latest contribution underscores the Kyle Lions Club’s long-standing tradition of community involvement and its dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders in Kyle. In less than a month, the club raised a total of $8,000, bolstered by donations from Glick Law Firm in Kyle and Michelle Cohen of Capital Area Housing Finance Corp., building upon the $2,000 the club had recently raised.
Kyle Lions Club member Vianna Garza emphasized that the success of community support hinges on the immense heart and positive spirit exemplified by members and the many volunteers who generously give their time.
The scholarship recipients were: Graciela Quiroz, Cristobal Sainz, Elijah Rodriguez Burke, Dhiaa Al-Asadi, Rolando Luna, Liliana Ramirez, Elizabeth Kozlowski and Alina Gonzalez Rodriguez.
