Man arrested after barricading himself inside home

One man was arrested early Thursday morning after he barricaded himself inside of a home in the Bunton Creek Village neighborhood in Kyle.  


According to a city of Kyle press release, Kyle Police responded to a call around 3:42 a.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Treeta Trail for a man who barricaded himself inside the home. 


The man, according to the release, assaulted another individual in the home and he was threatening to commit suicide with a firearm. 


Kyle Police requested assistance from the Hays County Sheriff's Office Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT. 


The man was arrested without incident a short time after police arrived and taken into custody by Kyle Police. The subject was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in the Hays County Jail. 


Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
