Lehman High sophomore Hillary Hernandez reached the top 20 at the UIL 6A girls state golf tournament in April. Her score kept her advancing until the final 13th and 14th holes. Hooking tee shots became a problem for Hernandez but she completed the tournament tying for the 13th best individual score. Her coach Brian Hempel said the accomplishment of reaching state is something she can build on and give motivation for next year.
