On Jan. 22, the iconic clang of weights on barbells filled the Joe Graham Gym rafters at Hays High as several area schools, including Hays, Lehman and Johnson, competed in the 2022 Hays Hawk Invitational Powerlifting meet. Leading the way was the Lehman Lobos girls powerlifting team which continued its state title defense with a first place finish in the team standings, scoring 71 points on the afternoon. On the boys side, the Johnson Jaguars powerlifting team secured first place honors with a 53-point finish. All told, 15 Hays CISD students earned individual first place honors in their respective weight classes, with Lehman High winning nine total individual first place honors. Congratulations to all Hays CISD powerlifters on a fantastic showing this weekend. You can view more photos from this event here: https://hayscisd.smugmug.com/.../Hays-Hawk-Invitational.../
