A top ten finish at the UIL Class 6A, Region IV cross country championship last weekend allowed Hays High junior Gabby Bosquez to punch her ticket to the state meet Nov. 12. Bosquez advanced to state after finishing in 7th place in the Girls 5,000 meter run at the regional meet at Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a time of 19:13.10. Bosquez will compete in the state 6A girls 5,000 meter run at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
The Lehman High boys cross country program closed the 2016 season finishing in the top 50 of the 184 person field. Freshman José Cano finished in 30th place with a time of 16:49.50, while senior Tracey Malrey claimed 41st place with a time of 17:08.20.
