On Feb. 12, more than 200 powerlifters from schools across Central Texas converged on Lehman High to flex their muscle in the 2022 Lehman Lobo Invitational Powerlifting tournament.
It was the hosts that ruled the day as the Lehman Lobos men’s and women’s powerlifting teams both secured first place finishes in the team category. The Lobo women’s team finished the day by scoring 70 points to take home the invitational title, while the men’s team scored 59 points. Hays High and Johnson High powerlifting teams also excelled Saturday, with the Hawk men’s team finishing in second place and the Jaguars taking third.
In the women’s competition, the Jaguars finished in second place. Individually, 19 Hays CISD students earned first place honors with 16 of those going to Lobo lifters.
