Give a bark for Buda’s dog park
Buda residents and their four-legged companions celebrated the opening of the city’s new dog park in August, which is located along Buda Sportsplex Drive. The park features a large and small dog area has amenities such as a Bow Wow Barrel, Hound Hoops, a teeter-totter and wait table.

A participant in the 2016 “Run For the Love of It” 5K smiles as she jogs toward the finish line of the race held in Buda Feb. 13. Local runners donned their pre-Valentine’s Day best as they took to the pavement for the event, which was sponsored by area 501 © 3 non-profit For the Love of Go.

Tejano music aficionados from near and far converged on Kyle as they took part in the inaugural Central Texas Tejano Extravaganza held at the Central Texas Speedway. The event featured various Tejano music acts, which included the Hometown Boys, Jay Perez, Mazz and the Garcia Bros.

Anglers of all kinds came out for the city of Buda’s fishing tournament at Bradfield Park Pond on Saturday, June 11. Fishing equipment and bait were provided. The event was free and participants enjoyed snacks and beverages as well. Fishing licenses are not required for kids 16 and younger.
