Union Pacific Railroad Police are investigating the death of a man who was struck by a train in San Marcos Friday.
According to a City of San Marcos press release, the incident happened on the railroad tracks near Wonder World Drive at around 3:30 p.m.
Police have not released the identity of the man, nor have they confirmed why he was on the track.
Friday's accident forced the train to stop, which blocked Wonder World Drive underneath the overpass crossing the railroad tracks. The road has since reopened.
UPRP are investigating the accident as the incident occurred on Union Pacific property.
