School briefs: April 1, 2015

No school Friday


Hays CISD campuses and administration buildings are closed Friday, April 3 in observance of Good Friday.


 


National College Fair for Students


The National Association of College Admissions Counselors will host the sixth annual National College Fair.  Workshops will be offered on the financial aid process, what to expect in college, and questions and answers about college with Texas area admissions officers.  High school counselors will be available to talk to parents and students about any questions you might have about the admissions and financial aid process. Hays CISD will provide transportation for high school students. Students must sign up in the College and Career Center with parent permission. Although the fair is free, students should register on  www.gotomyncf.com. By registering first, they will receive a scan code that will get them into the fair and can be used at any college booth in order receive more information. Takes place from 5:30-8:00 p.m. April 7 at the Austin Convention Center. For more information, contact your student’s high school counseling office. 


 


CHES PTA Carnival


The Carpenter Hill Elementary PTA carnival offers family fun, along with games, activities, music, a dunking booth and more. There will also be a silent auction. Takes place from noon-4 p.m. April 11 at the school. Wristbands are available for pre-sale through the PTA. Wristbands will also be available at the entrance on the day of the event.
