9th annual Buda Easter Egg Hunt
The City of Buda will hold its annual Easter egg hunt on April 4 at 9 a.m. at the Buda Sportsplex. Enjoy a free egg hunt with inflatables, games, activites and more.
Concerts for a Cause
Saturday April 4 at 6 p.m., Concerts for a Cause will feature music by Lucas Cook at Down South Railhouse. This concert benefits Hope & Love 4 Kids. Concerts for a Cause is a way to raise awareness of and raise money for some of the local-to-Hays County charities that work to make this “simply charming” county an even better place to live.
Ben Fountain at the Witliff Collections
Ben Fountain will be performing a reading and book signing on Tuesday, April 7 at the Witliff Collections. Ben Fountain’s story collection, Brief Encounters with Che Guevara, won the 2007 PEN/Hemingway Award and a Whiting Award. His novel, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, a finalist for the National Book Award, won the 2012 National Book Critics Circle Award, The Los Angeles Times Book Award, and has been ranked #8 on the list of the 21st Century’s greatest novels. Currently he is the University Chair in Creative Writing at Texas State University.
Live music at Blue Hole

Kyle Market Days
Kyle Market Days is back for the 2015 season. On April 11, Kyle Market Days will feature a chicken fajita backyard cook-off. The theme for this month’s Market Days is “Backyard Fun.” Market Days are held on the second saturday of the month from April to September at the historic City Square park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come on out for products from local vendors, arts & crafts, farm to market items, live music and more.
2nd Annual Texas Wild Rice Festival
The 2nd annual Texas Wild Rice Festival will be April 11th, 2015 at Sewell Park in San Marcos. The waters of the San Marcos River have attracted humans for thousands of years making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America. The headwaters of the San Marcos is home to eight endangered species, four of which are endemic to San Marcos - including the Texas Wild Rice! One of the main purposes of this festival is to spread this knowledge and educate all who attend. Celebrate the river with music, art, science, food, local vendors, and free hands-on workshops. The award-winning film “Yakona,” the story of the San Marcos River, will screen for FREE after sunset with a live score performance by Justin Sherburn. This festival is free and funded by community support.
