Living with mental illnesses
The Austin affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Austin) is currently taking registrations for free classes focused on living with mental illnesses. The classes range from 10 to 12 weeks and provide a wide range of information, support and helpful tools for people with a mental illness and their family members. The weekly 2.5 hour classes will be held at the Austin Travis County Integral Care training room on S. Lamar in Austin. All materials are provided, and registration is required. Friends of the Buda Library Annual Meeting
Join the Friends of the Buda Library for its annual meeting as leaders review 2014, honor contributors and volunteers, and take a look at what’s ahead in 2015.
The guest speaker is Mayor Todd Ruge. Meeting takes place beginning at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Library Meeting Room.
Central Texas Water Conservation Symposium
Highlights include designing successful demand management programs, using social media and innovative software to engage customers and developing regional and local strategies and guidelines for drought tolerant landscapes. “Dive Deep into Water Conservation” takes place from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at the St. Vincent de Paul Auditorium, Seton Administrative Offices in Austin.
