Elm Grove Elementary’s Math Pentathlon club, part of a national organization, sent 18 students to the Division I Math Pentathlon, with eight students receiving a medal. Math Pentathlon helps students enjoy math as well as improve their problem solving strategies. The games for each division build off of each other, so a game learned in Division I will be modified in some way when students move up to Division II. Each division has five games. For example, Division I games are called Kings and Quadraphages, Calla, Hex-A-Gone!, Star Track and Shape up. Pictured with the students are teachers Michelle Gleason and Christy Harris.
Elm Grove scored 201 points overall.
