Camp ‘n’ Catch


Join Kyle Parks and Rec for the annual spring break movie in the park and camp 'n' catch featuring “The Neverending Story.”


The free family event will be Friday, March 20 at Lake Kyle Park. Tents may begin setting up at 5 p.m. Quiet hours from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. No pets please.


Buda Bicycle Safety Fair


Bring the kids and their bikes to the Buda Bicycle Safety Fair this Saturday for some education and fun. Members of the Buda Police Department and local firefighters will be on hand to inspect bikes and helmets. They will also teach children about the laws and rules of the road for bicycles. 


Certified police cyclists will demonstrate maneuvering techniques and design a practice course in the parking lot. Police will lead participants on a bike ride through surrounding neighborhoods. Takes place from 9-noon March 21 at Elm Grove Elementary in Buda.


Corn Dog Day


March 21 from noon - 4 p.m. celebrate corn dogs in San Marcos. Enjoy corn dogs, tater tots, games, music and a corn dog eating contest as well as party favors for the whole family. Downtown establishments will also host March Madness specials. The event is held on the Historic Courthouse lawn.


Hooked on Fishing fishing tournament


On Saturday, March 28, come to Lake Kyle for the annual fishing tournament. The tournament is open to all adults with a valid Texas Freshwater Fishing License. This tournament will test your ability to catch large mouth bass, sunfish/perch and channel catfish. 


The cost is $25 registration through 5 p.m., Thursday, March 26. $30 after or on-site. Room for 150 participants.  Grand prize: 2-night stay in Rockport and a guided fishing trip. 


100% of proceeds go to Kid's Fishing Clinic and Lake Kyle Development.


See You At The Station


Supporters of law enforcement, including families, staff and community members, are invited to a gathering, called “See you at the station,” to show local police officers encouragement. Personnel from Hays County Sheriff’s Office, Kyle Police Department, San Marcos Police Department, and local Texas Department of Public Safety troopers will be at this event, which takes place outside the sheriff’s office. Coffee and donuts will be served. Takes place at 8:30 a.m. March 28 at 1307 Uhland Road, San Marcos.
