Staff report
Damage caused by recent rains at the north low water crossing on Lehman Road between Hallie Drive and Goldenrod Street have forced Kyle to close that portion for emergency repairs.
The damage, deemed "serious" in a release, was discovered Wednesday when city crews were conducting routine maintainance on Lehman Road. It was discovered that a "significant portion of the support for the road had been undermined or washed away." Crews closed Lehman Road between Hallie Drive and Goldenrod Street and began immediate repairs.
Repairs are expected to take roughly two weeks. However, the timeline could extend further based on the nature of the damage, along with any possible weather delays.
Lehman Road is one of five projects that make up the $36 million road bond that was approved in May 2013. Construction on the Lehman Road rebuilding effort is slated to begin March 2016.
