KVUE News is reporting that nine people were taken to area hospitals after a San Marcos ISD school bus carrying students was rear ended by a tractor-trailer on State Highway 21 near the San Marcos Airport early Monday evening.
The report said the Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed 12 children were on the bus when the crash happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. SH 21 is closed at Reynaldo Way while DPS investigates.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to University Medical Center - Brackenridge in Austin with serious injuries. One adult and seven students were taken to Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos with non-life threatening injuries.
