Signs are picked up and packed away. One of two missing little painted Christmas trees was found ... in our front yard.
What nice Christmas décor! Thanks, everyone! Even those who installed a few light strings added to the delightful experience of going through Mountain City at night.
While suggestion-mulling on “hand out only big awards next year,” a resident with an awarded “street sign” shared how much the recognition meant. It inspired her to do more next year.
The front entrance and city hall décor was all the talk of the town. (Thanks again, sponsors.) Folks raved in emails and waved us down when we were out and about.
To continue the Christmas décor recognition and city hall decor, Ron and I need assistance. Now is not too early to send word. It’s already 2015.

Loving Mountain City’s new coordinators are local realtors, Penny Moulder and Karlyn Ellis. In coming weeks, they’ll meet to start plans for 2015 based on the plans coordinated by Amy Hilton for 2010 – 2014.
Back in 2009, on her own, from her own front yard, Amy Hilton put on a 4th of July parade. There, she gathered names on a sign-up list. In August 2010, in the Old City Hall, volunteers met.
After a successful first Fire & Ice, Loving Mountain City (known as “Mountain City Fun,” until many emails got blocked as SPAM) presented a full city event calendar for 2010.
That first year Amy gave blood, sweat, tears, and a ton of money.
Now, fully organized with supplies stored and volunteers handling each event, Amy is handing over the reins in order to care for her health, her self and her family.
Cheers, Amy! Thanks for making memories. Job well done.
