KAPS ArtFest
On Friday, March 13 from noon to 3 p.m., the Katherine Anne Porter School will host ArtFest. This free, student-run event features student performances, music and poetry. ArtFest also offers community art activities and face painting, candle dipping and a water balloon fight. ArtFest begins with a potluck lunch, served from noon to 1 p.m.; bring a dish to share. “Can the Principal,” a food drive run by the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, takes place during ArtFest. All goods collected will be donated to Wimberley Bread Basket.
Kyle Farmers Market
Come out to the first market of the season and browse the wares of local farmers, bakers and crafters. Get your plants, produce, baked goods and crafts that are locally grown, baked and made. The market is held at Sustainacycle (409 W. Center St.) in Kyle from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m on Saturday.
Concerts for a Cause kick-off in Kyle
The first show of the 2015 season of Concerts for A Cause will feature D.C. Bloom on March 14 from 5-8 p.m. at Down South Railhouse in Kyle. The concert proceeds will be used to gain a not-for-profit status for Concerts for a Cause.
Shamrocks and Shenanigans
Where did you put that leprechaun costume? Better drag it out of storage because Centerfield Sports Bar in Kyle is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day event, Shamrocks and Shenanigans. The event will feature a crawfish boil, bagpipes from 4-7 p.m. and a leprechaun costume contest. Green cocktails and beer will be available in the evening. The event begins at 2 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m. on March 17. It will be child friendly until 7 p.m. The city of Kyle will close down Main Street between the bar and Desparadoes.
