Front Porch Days


On May 2-3, spend some time at Fergus Park in Plum Creek in Kyle for a community-wide block party. It's free and open to everyone.


Front Porch Days is a family-friendly, celebration that brings hundreds of residents of Kyle and surrounding areas to Kyle’s community of Plum Creek. Live music on two stages and a host of other activities, including lots for kids to do (petting zoo, jumpy jumps, train rides).See a schedule and more information at www.frontporchdays.com.


Hays Cinco de Mayo Fiesta


Saturday, May 2 at Kyle City Square (101 S. Burleson), celebrate Cinco de Mayo with mariachi, ballet folklorico, live music and more. The event is free and open to the public. Visit www.haysfiesta.com for more information.


Hays County Foodstock


Foodstock is a celebration of Hays County and all that makes it great: music, art, food, the river, and coming together as a community to help our neighbors in need. This free show and event happens two times a year on the San Marcos courthouse lawn on the first Saturdays in May and October. The event will run from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at the courthouse lawn in San Marcos.


Concerts for a Cause


This Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at Down South Railhouse in Kyle, come out for Concerts for a Cause benefiting Hays County ECI/Homespun. Jana Pochop (from Austin) will be opening the show at 5 p.m. with Floodgage to follow. The show is free but donations are accepted. South Folk Eatery and MWS Catering LLC will be donating $1 from each food order to Concerts For A Cause. 


Farmgrass Fest 


Head to Niederwald on May 3 for live bluegrass music and support your local farmers. Farmgrass is an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission of promoting the mental and physical well-being of local, independent farmers. The event takes place at the Simmons Family Farm. 


Shiny Things showcase


On May 2, SpaceLab in San Marcos (214 N. LBJ Dr., suite 104)presents Shiny Things, a showcase of local jewelry artists, mineral collection and live music. Support local artisans and have a free fun time. The event is BYOB and free, but donations are encouraged.
