Twenty-nine people got a brisk start to their 2015 as they took the plunge in the Polar Bear Splash at the Kyle Pool on New Year’s Day. The event, hosted by the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department, is a Kyle tradition that goes back to January 2005. While participants were greeted to temperatures that felt like 30 degrees, the temperature in the pool was a balmy 47 degrees. Parkas were matched with flip-flops and swim trunks as participants huddled around fire pits to stay warm prior to splashdown. See more photos here. (Photos by Moses Leos III)
