A Buda Fire Department firefighter battles the dying remnants of a wildland fire from a brush truck in a field along Burleson Road in Kyle Monday. Firefighters from both the Buda and Kyle FIre Departments, along with a group of trained wild land firefighters from the Union Pacific Railroad, responded to the fire that started just after 6 p.m. near the railroad tracks on Burleson Street. Monday’s fire consumed approximately five acres of wild land. No homes were affected. Kyle Fire Department Chief Kyle Taylor said the grinding of the railroad tracks by a railcar started the fire.
