Evita at Texas State


The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University will present the famed musical Evita Nov. 17-22 in the Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17-22, with an additional 2 p.m. matinee Nov. 22. Directed by J. Robert Moore, the story follows the early life, rise to power, charity work and eventual death of Eva Perón. Individual tickets start at $15 for adults and $8 for students, and may be purchased by phone at (512) 245-6500 or online at txstatepresents.com.


Concerts for a Cause


This month’s Concerts For A Cause benefits The Simply Charming Mos of Kyle. The Mos raise money and awareness for Movember on Nov. 21 at Down South Railhouse. Trashy and the Kid and The Easy Out will be performing. The event is free but donations are welcome. There will also be a silent auction with many items, including several mustache-themed items, a Randy Rogers Band autographed guitar, Wiley Ross art, a #KeepItKyle Gift basket and more.


Inside Out Movie Night


Fuentes Elementary will be presenting Disney-Pixar’s “Inside Out” on Friday, Nov. 20th. at 6:30 p.m. in the Feunets Elementary Gym. There will be concessions available for purchase. Blankets and pillow seats wil be welcome in front, people with chairs are asked to circle the outer perimeter.


Christmas Bazaar


On Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at 302 Elm Street, enjoy a Christmas Bazaar at BUMC. Funds raised are used to support missions for women, children and youth, locally, nationally and globally.  Sponsored by the Buda United Methodist Women.


Blessing of the Kettle


The Salvation Army will be launching its kettle program for the Buda/Kyle area Nov. 27- Dec. 23, with no bell ringing on Sundays. There will be a Blessing of the Kettles on Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Walmart in Kyle.


 


Operation Turkey Tailgate


Each Thanksgiving, Operation Turkey organizes local teams of volunteers to cook, prepare, pack and deliver thousands of hot meals and provide other necessities to many people in need. On Nov. 24, head to  Texas Roadhouse in San Marcos for the Turkey Tailgate.  If you have a smoker and would like to help smoke around 130 turkeys, please show up at 8 a.m. To help de-bone turkey, show up between 3-8 p.m. On Nov. 25, Thanksgiving, please show up at 7 a.m. to help deliver meals.
