Kyle Fair and Music Fest


Get ready for a fun-filled weekend celebrating Kyle. The Kyle Fair and Music Fest will be held Oct. 8-10 at Central Texas Speedway in Kyle. Enjoy $1 carnival rides and go-karting on Thursday’s preview night. Vendors and live music begin Friday.  All-day carnival wristbands (Friday and Saturday only) will be available for $25. Sacred Springs Powwow


This year’s Sacred Springs Powwow will be from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment (201 San Marcos Springs Drive). Events include a traditional Native blessing on the shores of the Sacred Springs, a Native Culture Tent with stroytellers, music and more. This annual event celebrates the Native American culture that has been part of the San Marcos area for thousands of years.


 


Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival


Historic Downtown Dripping Springs will play host to local, national and international songwriters and performers for this second annual event Oct. 16-18. Enjoy free shows continuously during the day at various venues on Mercer Street such as the Barber Shop, Mercer Street Dance Hall, The Mercantile and more. The evening headliner shows include Grammy-nominated songwriters JD Souther, Scott Emerick, Allen Shamblin and more. Kyle Founders’ Day parade


On Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning at 10 a.m., the Kyle Founders’ Parade will once again pass through downtown. The parade participants will be gathering at Gregg-Clarke Park, head east on Center Street and end at the City Square Park gazebo. After the parade, all gathered are invited to sing “Happy Birthday” to Kyle and have a piece of birthday cake. Kyle Market Days vendors will set up for the final event of the year from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the City Square.


 


KUMC Fall Festival


Head to Kyle United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 17 for the annual Fall Festival. The fun begins directly after the Kyle Founders’ Parade (approximately 10:30 a.m.) and ends at 1 p.m. Enjoy  games, a silent auction, hotdogs and drinks, a bake sale, a costume corner and an awesome pumpkin patch. KUMC is located at at 408 W. Lockhart Street (one block North of Center Street at Sledge Street). 


 


Creedmoor Oktoberfest


Enjoy country fun in Creedmoor at Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Creedmoor Community Center, 12511 FM 1625, Creedmoor, TX 78610.  The family-friendly event features a parade, wildlife tours of the Texas Disposal Systems Ranch, cake walk, craft and food vendors, games for the kids, petting zoo, and a live auction at 2 p.m.  Free admission and free parking.


 


Farm tour at Millberg Farms


From 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 17, head to Kyle’s Millberg Farms for a tour, seed swap and tasty treats. See a five-acre fruit orchard, no-irrigation farm. Farmer Tim Miller will also have some unique, drought tolerant seed varieties to swap that he’s collected over the years.
