Rebel baseball advances

Hays Rebel catcher Cole Irby prepares to whip a throw to first base during the Rebels’ April 25 game against the Bowie Bulldogs at Burger Stadium. On Friday, Hays completed the regular season by defeating the Fredericksburg Battlin’ Billies 15-6. The Rebels advance to postseason play, where they open the playoffs for a best-of-three series against the Pflugerville Panthers. The series begins at Hays on Thursday at 7 p.m, then switches to Pflugerville Friday at 7 p.m. If necessary, a third game would be played Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hays High.  (Photo by Moses Leos III)
