Westlake surpasses Hays in straight sets

Hays High junior outside hitter Mackenzie Coates goes up for a kill attempt during a match during the Rebel Bash tournament on Sept. 5.  Coates scored 14 assists Tuesday as the Lady Rebels fell to the Westlake Chaparrals in a 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 loss at Chaparral Gym. Lady Rebel sophomore right side Kaitlyn Krafka and junior outside hitter/right side Hailee Morton led Hays with six assists. Senior outside hitter/defensive specialist Saskia Hamner had 11 digs.
